A Month (or Four) in Review

Sorry that my Mommy has not been better about keeping my blog up. Once she went back to work and I went back to school we have stayed really busy. She would rather spend time with me than try to blog when we are together. I told her that she really needs to be better about showing me to all our friends. I hope you have had a nice start to 2010, I know I have.

Girls Weekend

My Mom and Grandma have a summer tradition of a girl’s weekend at the beach before they both have to head back to work. This year since my Dad is off hiking the Chilkoot Trail in Alaska I got to go to Lincoln City with them. The weather was shockingly nice for the Oregon Coast. So nice that my Mom had to buy shorts and a t-shirt!

My Mom, Grandma and I sat in the sand and watched the tide come in. At first I wasn't too sure about the sand. My Grandma let me sit on her lap so I could explore the sand with my feet.

I like to taste everything, even sand.

Once I was done exploring with my toes I enjoyed pulling the sand onto my legs.

The playing in the sand really wore me out. I had sweet dreams of playing in the sand.

Thanks Grandma Candee for a great time at the Oregon Coast!!!

Doing the Dishes

Tonight when my parents were cleaning up from dinner I was playing with the dishes. When my DaDa turned around he noticed that I had pulled myself up on the dishwasher.

My Mom & Dad were so excited and I was pretty darn proud of myself too!

On The Move

I mastered crawling while we were in Maui and have since discovered new things in our house.

At dinner on Monday night I crawled under my mom's chair and tried to stand up.

I wasn't so sure about being stuck and was so happy when my DaDa helped me out. Although he did have to take a picture first.

I can open doors...

and drawers!

I also can entertain myself for short periods of time.

It looks like my mom & dad need to put some locks on the doors and drawers very soon.

DaDa

Here is an update of my time with my DaDa. We always have so much fun together!!

Here I am on my little train. My DaDa pushed me around the house making silly train noises.

I have discovered the door to the outside world and am not happy when I am stuck on the other side! DaDa and Cayenne were pulling weeds and I was stuck inside.

I like to give my DaDa hugs!!

DaDa and I checked out the waves in Maui before he went snorkeling. Did you notice my bikini?

I am Daddy's little girl!!

How To Cool Off....

We have been having some very hot weather here for the last 10 days. On the day it was 110 degrees mom and I were at Grandma Candee's house for a few hours while our car was worked on. I know a great way to cool off!!

Step 1: Strip down to your diaper.

Step 2: Make sure Grandma fills your pool with water and that your mom watches over you.

Step 3: Splash in the water to cool yourself off.

Step 4: When you are all done in the pool cuddle with your mom!

As you can tell I was able to beat the heat in Portland. :)

A Family of Generations

In June my mom's sister, Michele & her husband Myron ended their road trip in the Portland area. This was the first time everyone had been together since Alan and I were married in July of 2004. My Uncle Myron took several photos of the generations.

Candee Renton (my mom), Michele Rice, Donna Adams & Betty West (my Grandma)
